According to LeakedSource, FriendFinder Networks secured their passwords with the unsalted hash algorithm SHA-1 and stored user data in plaintext files. Furthermore, a white-hat hacker named Revolver revealed a Local File Inclusion (LFI) vulnerability from photos shared on social media. This was a huge security issue for the adult entertainment company because it had been hacked just one year prior, in May 2015, which compromised 3.5 million users. Despite the data breaches, AdultFriendFinder still attracts over 50 million visitors per month worldwide.

As of February 2017, thirty-eight journalists were imprisoned in China, according to the Committee to Protect Journalists, a U.S.-based watchdog on press freedom issues. In 2009, Chinese rights activist Liu Xiaobo was sentenced to eleven years in prison for advocating democratic reforms and freedom of speech in Charter 08, a 2008 statement signed by more than two thousand prominent Chinese citizens that called for political and human rights reforms and an end to one-party rule. When Liu won the Nobel Peace Prize, censors blocked the news in China. A year later, journalist Tan Zuoren was sentenced to five years in prison for drawing attention to government corruption and poor construction of school buildings that collapsed and killed thousands of children during the 2008 earthquake in Sichuan province. Early 2014 saw the government detain Gao Yu, a columnist who was jailed on accusations of leaking a Party communiqué titled Document 9.
Building this publication has not been easy; as with any small startup organization, it has often been chaotic. But it has also been hugely fulfilling for those involved. This spending contributes to record-breakingly expensive races. When adjusting for inflation, nine of the 10 most expensive non-special election House races ever occurred in the 2018 election cycle. California House races for the 25th and 48th congressional districts were each bombarded with more than $20 million in outside spending. No non-special election House race had reached that mark before.
Postmenopausal womenMenopause leads to bone loss because decreases in estrogen production reduce calcium absorption and increase urinary calcium loss and calcium resorption from bone [1]. On average, women lose approximately 1% of their bone mineral density (BMD) per year after menopause [25]. Over time, these changes lead to decreased bone mass and fragile bones [1]. About 30% of postmenopausal women in the United States and Europe have osteoporosis, and at least 40% of those with this condition develop at least one fragility fracture (a fracture that occurs after minor trauma, such as a fall from standing height or lower) [26]. The calcium RDA is 1,200 mg for women older than 50 years (vs. 1,000 mg for younger women) to lessen bone loss after menopause [1].
An observational study found an association between higher calcium intakes and lower prevalence of overweight or obesity in 6,696 children (51% male, mean age 6 years) in eight European countries, of whom 2,744 were re-examined 6 years later [86]. The prevalence of overweight or obesity at 6-year follow-up was lower in boys (16%) and girls (18%) in the highest tertile of calcium intake (664 mg/1,000 kcal for boys and 667 mg/1,000 kcal for girls) than in boys (26%) and girls (25%) in the lowest tertile (249 mg/1,000 kcal for both boys and girls). In contrast, a longitudinal study in 2,159 participants in Portugal evaluated at ages 13 and 21 years found no association between total dietary and supplemental calcium intake at age 13 and body mass index (BMI) at age 21 after the analysis was adjusted for energy intake [87]. The study also found no associations between consumption of dairy foods (milk, yogurt, and cheese) at age 13 and BMI at age 21.
Clinical trials and meta-analyses of RCTs assessing the impact of calcium supplements or increased intakes of calcium from dairy products on prevention of weight gain or promotion of fat loss or weight loss have had mixed results [88-92]. For example, postmenopausal women who took 1,000 mg calcium and 400 IU (10 mcg) vitamin D daily for 3 years in the WHI whose daily intakes were less than 1,200 mg calcium at baseline were 11% less likely to gain 1 kg of weight or more than those who took placebo during this period [90]. A systematic review and meta-analysis of 41 RCTs that examined the effect of dairy foods or calcium supplements (at least 300 mg/day) in 4,802 adults found that higher calcium intakes from dairy foods had no impact on body weight or body fat, although they did reduce body fat when combined with an energy-restricted diet [91]. In addition, calcium supplements had no effect on body weight or body fat.

Latoya Johnson: Joining Pete today is Ron. Ron serves as the chief of the private management section in New Hampshire DOT's Bureau of Environment and, prior to serving as section chief, Ron was the I-93 environmental coordinator for five years. He has over twenty-eight years of experience with the department and nineteen of those years are with the construction bureau, and the last nine years with the Bureau of Environment. Doing the presentation today, as I hope you gathered, they'll talk about some experiences and lessons learned in the development and delivery of the I-93 project and specifically some of the environmental issues related to water quality concerns. So with that I'll turn it-well, before I say that I just want to remind all the participants, if you have questions please feel free to enter them in the chat pod as we are going through the presentation and then at the end of the presentation Peter and Ron will be available for some Q and A. So with that I'll turn it over to Pete and Ron.
Christine: Okay, thanks, Tracey. As Tracey has said, this project was tapped as a presidential initiative, which meant that it was a high priority project that was expected to create jobs and business opportunities. So we knew this job would get a lot of scrutiny. The project was then approved for, as Tracey said, 1.6 billion dollar Transportation Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act credit assistance, otherwise known as TIFIA project, which federalized the project, which meant that we had to follow federal laws and procedures, which meant, of course, that we would have to come up with a DBE goal for the project. And, you know, just some of the history here: There was a lot of confusion in the beginning of if there could also be an MWBE goal, the MWBE program being the state's program. And there could not. Because it's federalized, we could only have a DBE goal, but we did in the language of the RFP put in that, you know, the utilization of MWBEs was encouraged. So now that we knew we had to have a DBE goal we created a team to calculate that goal. And the team consisted of expertise in the - from Civil Rights as well as design and construction engineers, from the Thruway we had members, we had members from the New York State DOT and then we also used a lot of resources such as we - I did call Latoya looking for historical data on DBE participation on other major projects around the country. We also looked a lot though right here in New York of what major projects - our biggest bridge projects and how they were sub-contracting and who was getting work, how much work they were able to do. And from there we also looked at the bridge itself. You know, the bridge did not have - looking at it from the engineer's point of view, as Tracey was saying, this is three-mile bridge over three miles of water. There's a lot of complexity to this bridge and there were certain portions that were just not sub- contractible to small disadvantaged businesses due to hazardous work conditions and the necessity of specialized equipment. So, because of that, we kind of broke the bridge up into pieces looking at design, looking at approaches, looking at the center span and calculated through this historical data and the availability of DBEs to do this work and we came up with the ten percent goal. So as Tracey has said, the ten percent equates to 314 million dollars of opportunity to the small businesses. This is unprecedented. We - this is - you know, a fraction of this goal is what we do on a normal year in DBE commitment and attainment. So this was a real challenge. And, you know, to address this challenge what we also looked at is our DBE plan, which historically the DBE plan to work in the State of New York you had to be certified as a DBE in New York under New York's UCP. But we felt that the amount of - the number of firms that would want to come to New York on this project would create a huge burden on our very limited resources in our certification partners. We have four certifying partners in New York, but still there's not enough staff or time to get these firms onboard quickly because, once again, this was an expedited project because it was presidential initiative. So what we created was a variance to our DBE plan and to allow any firm certified as a DBE in any state of the country - meaning, that firm is in their UCP - can be utilized towards the goal. So this gave a lot of flexibility to the design-builder, to TZC, to reach out to other states and to have more opportunity to possibly to fulfill that ten percent goal. 2ff7e9595c
